Hi, I’m Courtney
I started Senior and Living Today, S.A.L.T. for short, because I kept seeing the same thing: good, loving people trying to take care of someone, and nobody taking care of them.
I’ve spent more than 30 years around senior care. I’ve worked in a hospital. I spent years in medical billing, so I know how those bills and policies work, and how to ask for help with them. I’ve also been the patient lying in the bed, in too much pain to speak, grateful that someone was there to speak for me.
So I call myself the caregiver’s caregiver. S.A.L.T. is for anyone 55 and older, and for everyone who plays a part in a senior’s everyday life: sons and daughters, spouses, neighbors, friends.
We talk about the obstacles and the joys of getting older. Health, money, safety, relationships, and the conversations families keep putting off. I’ll tell you what I’d do, and if I don’t know, I’ll help you find who does.
I’m so glad you’re here. — Courtney

What I believe
- You don’t need to know everything. You just need to know who to call.
- Nobody should be in the hospital alone. Everyone needs an advocate.
- We may be soft-hearted, but we’re not fools. Protect your home, your money and your peace.
- Write it down. The kindest thing you can leave your family is a clear plan.
- Ask for help. It isn’t weakness. It’s smart.
How Not to Hesitate: it’s okay to ask for help
This one says a lot about who I am.
